Job Summary

As a reputable British Council-accredited English school in Manchester, UK, we are now seeking a vibrant and professional Student Services Coordinator to join our friendly team. This is a varied, customer-facing role. As a main point of contact for students, agents, staff and visitors, key tasks will include administration and accommodation support and managing social media platforms. The postholder will be a professional, friendly people-person with great organisational skills.

The Essential English Centre is a professional, British Council-accredited English language school located in Manchester city centre, UK. We are recognised as a high quality independent provider in the north west of England, offering face to face English language programmes to adult students (aged 16+) all year round. Our friendly, personalised approach to customer service and excellent academic and cultural experience is at the heart of everything we do.


We are now seeking a vibrant and professional Student Services Coordinator to join the Student Services team. This is a varied, customer-facing role working under the supervision of the Student Services Manager. As a main point of contact for students, agents, staff and visitors your working day will be varied, with key tasks including admissions and accommodation support, managing the school's social media platforms and overseeing the students' experience outside of the classroom including leading social and cultural trips. The postholder must be an energetic, friendly, people-person with a professional demeanour, great administrative and communication skills, and a genuine motivation to help international students have an enriching experience in the UK.


Admissions and Accommodation:


Working under the supervision of the Student Services Manager, you will:

Be the chief front-of-house member of staff, welcoming students and other visitors to the school and managing student enquiries and their day-to-day requirements.

Play a key role in the smooth running of the admissions department, including replying promptly to enquiries and ensuring accurate administration and information sharing processes are followed for all bookings.

Play a key role in the accommodation department (homestay and student residence), including assistance with homestay recruitment, dealing with student accommodation queries, and maintenance of the accommodation database.

Create and manage the schools social programme, ensuring it is promoted to all students, appropriately staffed and that external activities are booked and organised in a timely manner.

Assist the team in ensuring all relevant compliance and policies are adhered to.


Marketing and social media:

You will be responsible for:

Creating regular vibrant content for the schools social media channels and website, including photographs, videos and other imagery.

Systematically updating the schools social media channels

Qualifications

Essential skills and qualifications:

Previous experience in a professional administrative role
Excellent organisational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent cultural awareness
A high level of literacy and numeracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Excel and Word
Excellent customer service skills
To be able to work under pressure in a busy environment and to meet deadlines
A good understanding of the importance of digital marketing
The ability to use and stay up to date with popular social media channels
The ability to prioritise and manage own workload within team
A proven ability to work with attention to detail
To be able to use initiative, with an independent, solutions-focused mindset



Desirable:

Previous experience in a similar role
Experience working in a British Council accredited school in the UK
Previous experience of updating social media channels in a professional capacity
To be able to use other languages in a professional capacity
Experience of working with other nationalities and cultures

19 - 21k pa
22 days holiday plus bank holidays
