- Experience: 3 YEARS
- Positions: 2

- Short Term/Summer job, Residential
We offer a warm, professional environment where you will be working alongside a team of dedicated teachers and a very experienced DOS. 70% of your colleagues will be returning staff. We look for staff who are dynamic and personable and ADOSs who can provide support and inspiration to our teaching team. You must be DELTA-qualified with previous experience of conducting lesson observations.
Details of Position
Our EFL summer courses promote communication in English, focusing on the development of students' speaking, listening and pronunciation. We provide an excellent working environment where we set the bar high for performance standards but still maintain a staff retention rate of over 70%. Our staff appreciate our professional organisation and the welcoming, supportive atmosphere within the teaching team. The other members of the academic management team for the summer including the DOS, Senior Teacher and Lead Teachers are all returning members of staff.
We are recruiting for two Assistant Director of Studies (ADOS) positions for summer 2018 as follows:
Juniors ADOS (9-13 age group): 1 July 2 August
Seniors ADOS (14-17 age group): 26 July 17 August
The Seniors ADOS position could be combined with a three-week teaching position from 6 July to 25 July, which would allow a lengthy on-the-job handover with the returning staff member who is working in the Seniors ADOS contract for the first three weeks of our summer school.
The ADOS is responsible for assisting the DOS in supervising and supporting a team of up to 30 EFL teachers and ensuring the smooth running of the academic aspect of all English language courses. In particular the ADOS has responsibility for conducting lesson observations and providing developmental guidance to teachers.
Full details of the position can be found in our job specifications available to download from our website. Applications are through our website and interviewing starts in the week beginning 26 February.
We are looking for candidates with extensive experience of conducting lesson observations and ideally previous experience of working in a summer school environment. Candidates need experience of working with the relevant age group. CELTA course tutors and academic managers who have held responsibility for teacher support are particularly welcome to apply.
