Bayswater College offers English language courses to students for whom English is not a first language, and Professional courses to both overseas and local students. This role is for a Senior Teacher to act as part of a wider academic management team, in conjunction with the Director of Studies and Group Academic Development Manager, to promote the educational development of every student at Bayswater College Liverpool.
Key responsibilities and tasks:
Teaching
Providing quality language teaching for 19 hours per week (apart from cover teaching duties) to adult (and possibly Junior) learners at a variety of levels
Ensuring weekly admin tasks are completed
Following the syllabus outlined while adding your own supplementary materials.
Carrying out the schools safeguarding policy and maintaining a friendly but professional manner at all times
Academic Administration
Set an example to the teaching team of best practice both in and out of the classroom by adhering to all school rules and ensuring that they are followed around the school by other teachers and students.
Ensure weekly plans are up to date and displayed in the appropriate place by the appropriate time.
Brief cover teachers with accurate information to ensure students receive continuity of class content.
Supervise the maintenance of accurate records on the progress and attendance of students.
Ensure teachers are up to date with administrative procedures including:
Completing daily online registers,
Conducting weekly skill assessments and progress tests
Conducting monthly level tests
Inputting of weekly skill assessment scores into GEL platform
Ensuring 1:1 tutorials are conducted with each student on a monthly basis
Ensure that classrooms are set up correctly for use each morning and that windows and doors are secured at night, as required.
Assist the DoS as required with:
Academic administration, including updating the database, classing & creating registers.
Auditing teachers administrative procedures
Supporting teachers procedural and developmental goals.
Once qualified, conducting spot observations and helping to organise CPD, including peer observations.

Qualifications
Essential
Bachelors degree or equivalent
Cambridge CELTA or Trinity Cert TESOL (TEFL-I status)
Have or be working towards Cambridge Delta or Trinity Dip TESOL (TEFL-Q status)
Desirable
Previous experience in an academic management role
MA Applied Linguistics and ELT/TESOL
Experience of teaching exam preparation courses
Experience of teaching ESPs, such as Business, Academic English
Skills and Attributes
