Details of Position
This is an office based role.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assist in preparing the centre for inspections
- Teach classes as assigned by the Learning and Teaching Manager
- Assist with recruiting and inducting new English Language teachers and subject tutors for the University Foundation Programme (UFP)
- Line-manage and support teachers and tutors, including setting performance goals and carrying out performance management reviews
- Carry out observations for quality assurance and developmental purposes
- Co-ordinate deployment of teaching staff with reference to students needs and teacher professional development
- Ensure adequate cover for absent staff
- Ensure that students receive relevant information and advice about their learning throughout the customer journey
- Ensure students are grouped / classed effectively, produce timetables and manage class changes using the CLASS (Info-speed) database system
- Ensure the collection and dissemination of student feedback
- Provide prompt and appropriate information to students (and parents and sponsors when required), including end-of-course certificates and reports, UFP mid-term reports, UFP timetables and assessment information etc.
- Liaise with the Sales and Marketing team, agents, sponsors and parents, as required
- Input into the development of the product portfolio for Bell Cambridge
- Deputise for the Learning and Teaching Manager
- Participate and actively contribute to work of the Education Steering Group
- Oversee the planning and delivery of closed group programmes
- Occasionally chair meetings and help arrange in-house CPD sessions

Qualifications
- Degree
- CELTA and Delta or equivalent
- Experience of mentoring, training or helping other teachers to improve in an ELT staff room
- Demonstrable experience teaching a range of ELT courses including IELTS, Cambridge main suite, Business English, 121s etc.
- A passion for constant improvement and development
- Excellent teaching skills
- Good people management skills
- Knowledgeable about education
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Good time management skills
- IT literate
- Ability to undertake a multi-faceted role and prioritise accordingly
- Patience, and a customer-focused mind-set
Desirable
- Some experience of managing teachers or teams of people
- Experience of leading training or CPD sessions
- Confidence to deliver a talk at conferences such as IATEFL
- Ability to deliver honest feedback in a constructive way and to take such on board
- CELTA trainer, or desire to be trained as such
- Knowledge of Academic CLASS
