Job Summary

Enhance your career in a top private school of English established since 1994 in the lively university area of Valencia. We are recruiting native or bilingual teachers to complete our team of highly qualified and experienced EFL teachers for the upcoming course, starting in October. We teach students of all ages from Pre-A1 to C2 level but group ages and levels are assigned according to the applicants profile. Come and enjoy Mediterranean life in the most dynamic Spanish city.

Details of Position

Lessons are aimed to encourage students to improve the four basic language skills, with a strong emphasis on communication. We teach from Pre-A1 to C2 level, with most of the students aiming at Cambridge exams. Groups are assigned according to applicants experience.

We offer:

Groups of 10/12 students maximum and 4 minimum, strictly classified according to age and level.
Courses taught: General English;
Teacher support in lesson planning and classroom management;

We require:
a native or near native speaker level of competence with high proficiency in the use of the English language.
European citizen or with a work permit.
education to degree level or equivalent qualification
a certificate TEFL qualification (Preferably CELTA with an A or B grade or Cert. TESOL).
at least two years' relevant TEFL experience.
dynamic and trustworthy applicants willing to commit to a 9 month contract.
ICT proficient (IWB and digital tools used in and outside the classroom)
experience with online lessons

Candidates should be available from September 24th for the induction period in which they will become familiar with the school culture. New teachers will be offered guidance about instruction, teaching strategies, curriculum, procedure and practices so as to deliver lessons according to the school method and standard.

Typical tasks that should be carried out include:
Preparing creative lesson plans;
Presenting lesson planning in the weekly teachers meeting;
Deliver high quality general English lessons using varied communicative language teaching methods;
Apply classroom management skills;
Working in strong collaboration with the directors, the teacher leader and colleagues;
Creating good rapport with students, peers and superiors;
Setting examination papers;
Marking and providing appropriate feedback on written exams;
Preparing students for Cambridge English Examinations;

Qualifications

As well as having the relevant qualifications and previous experience in similar positions candidates will need to show evidence of the following:
A friendly and confident manner;
Good planning and organisational skills;
Flexibility and an adaptable teaching style.
Accepting to be observed and given feedback on how to reach the students in their classroom. Being open to suggestions and to trying new things to suit students needs;
Creative skills and ideas for planning practical and interesting lessons;
Tolerance and patience;
Understanding of the challenges the students may have to learning and what approaches might work best with them individually;
Applicants should be willing to work closely with their colleagues and the school administrators. Their work will be supervised by the teacher leader and the directors of the school who act as classroom supporters, resource providers, instructional specialists and mentors.

Salary and Benefits

A nine month renewable contract with social security (From October to June);
Up to 20 teaching hours per week;
Work contract and medical cover;
A competitive salary above average, as well as paid Christmas, Easter, local and national holidays;
Teaching timetable from Monday to Friday evenings.
