Job Summary

The Academic Director position is responsible for the day to day running all schools belonging to Arkon Education Group in order to provide an excellent service to existing clients and further develop relationships with local businesses and educational communities. Additionally, the post involves supervising and supporting our various branches in the region to ensure that they meet the desired standards and self sustaining.

Details of Position

The Director of Academics (DA) will assist the principal/CEO to accomplish the school's mission and vision. DA will focus mainly on academic topic concerning e.g. curriculum, instruction, assessment, professional development of all teachers and support staff.

The post holder will have the key task of leading and managing the academic life of all Arkon schools (pre-school, language and primary, and online/hybrid school) as well as play a crucial role the overall school strategy and development. The role of the AD will depend to a certain extent on the individual strengths of the successful candidate and may be adapted to best fit the skills and needs of the appointed candidate. The main responsibilities Arkon expects are:

The AD has to act as source and as change agent as well as a skillful facilitator in building a good team climate and create opportunities for Arkon as a learning organization. He/she helps to define and implement successfully educational strategies


Minimum of five years of related experience.Preferred Qualifications Highly desired education, training, and/or experience that may be helpful in performing the job, if applicable.
Masters/ Bachelor degree in Educational Administration or Curriculum and Instruction.
Five years of teaching experience.
Experience in program and curriculum development
Building level administrative experience.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those commonly associated with this position.
Ability to work successfully with teachers in the development and revision of curriculum.
Ability to provide training for teachers
Knowledge of program evaluation.
Regularly required to talk and listen.
Must be able to work at desk/computer for extended periods of time.

Salary and Benefits

12-month contracts for Teacher positions with competitive local salary 700-1000 USD (depending on qualifications), a bonus system, visa support, paid accommodation, airfare subsidy, paid holidays and health care.

Remuneration package:
Visa support. The school assists and covers the costs of a multiple one-year work visa.
