Windermere International Summer School is currently recruiting teaching staff during the months of July and August 2020.
At this current time, only candidates with the right to work in the UK/EU will be considered for the role. The school is not able to sponsor a working visa for the UK.
Key Areas of the Role
This is a residential role. You must be available to attend summer school Training from the 1st of July with an actual start date on the 3rd of July.
The role requires to be on-duty six days per week, where teachers will support the activity team in pastoral obligations in addition to their teaching duties.
You will be required to live on site for the duration of the summer.
To attend daily morning meetings and assemblies, working as a cohesive team.
To participate fully in the staff Rota including, meal time supervision, evening and night boarding duties. You will be required to participate in at least two boarding duties each week.
Boarding duties include taking the boarding house roll call register, ensuring students are settled in bed for lights out, dealing with any night-time emergencies, and ensuring students are awake and present at breakfast.
To support the Director of Studies with additional tasks required to ensure the safe and successful daily operation of a large campus.
To maintain daily contact with the Centre Manager and Director of Studies, providing updates on student progress, in addition to attendance of regular 121s.
To plan and deliver English Language classes, workshops and educational trips. You will work closely with the Director of Studies to deliver a well-balanced curriculum suited to the needs of your students.
Main Duties Include:
Planning, preparing and delivering engaging English language lessons, suitable for the age and level of your allocated group of students.
Ensuring that all English lessons, workshops and activities are well planned in advance, and start and finish promptly.
To ensure that all grammar and punctuation mistakes are corrected in an unobtrusive manner, encouraging students to grow in confidence.
To be responsible for your classroom, including locking and unlocking each day, ensuring classrooms are set up and prepared in advance of each course, and left tidy and presentable and returned to original state.
To ensure textbooks and resources are looked after and returned to their original locations.
To ensure that English is used as the universal language between nationalities.
To ensure students are given the opportunity to ask questions, prepare and investigate excursions prior to their trips.
To actively engage in the preparation of materials for educational trips as well as the implementation of.
To ensure students are given the opportunity to reflect on their experiences and learning.
Qualified to degree level. Essential
English Language teaching qualification (CELTA/ TEFL). Essential
Minimum of two years experience teaching English to young international students, aged 11 to 17. Essential
Experience of working within a residential setting. Essential
Experience of preparing and delivering engaging, modern and challenging classes for teenage English language students. Essential
Experience of designing and implementing lessons. Essential
Ability to work in a fast paced, and high pressured environment. Essential

Salary and Benefits
Teachers will be paid £480/ week (inc. holiday pay)
All accommodation and meals are provided. Staff are accommodated in single or twin rooms, within staff residential area. Meals are provided in the School dining hall.
