Job Summary

Details of Position

As a member of the summer team at The English Studio, you will play an important role in the successful delivery of our non-residential summer courses for 8-17-year-olds, which run from 23 June until 16 August 2025. Residential positions are available at our summer centre for 14-17 year olds in July. You will be fully supported by our experienced Head Office staff. We also have vacancies for summer contracts at our adult school.

We are looking for team members who are committed to working with young people and want to join us for an unforgettable and rewarding experience. Teachers are responsible for delivering engaging EFL lessons in the mornings and leading/supervising some activities and study visits in the afternoons.

EFL Teachers - residential
Main duties
- Deliver lessons to a high standard based on current EFL materials and in accordance with the Young English Studio syllabus.
- Prepare lessons in the designated preparation time.
- Write weekly reports and end of course reports for each student.
- Assist with the activity programme and other duties
- Supervise one full-day excursion or activity each week normally either on Saturday or Sunday

Activity Leaders - residential and non-residential in central London
Main duties
- Plan and deliver structured, and enjoyable excursions and activities according to the planned activity programme.
- Use and where appropriate improve risk assessments for planned activity sessions.
- Encourage our students and help build their confidence in different activities and using the English language.

Weekly rates will be offered on a fixed-term contract basis for teachers at our residential and non-residential English & Activity programmes.

Qualifications
Degree Required except Activity Manager/Activity Leader and Welfare positions where relevant knowledge and experience will be the main consideration.

Native level English speaker preferred
You must genuinely enjoy working with young people as the majority of our staff are also expected to play an active role in student supervision/care work, for example, in making sure activities are carried out in a professional manner.

Previous experience of the following competencies will be recognised:
Activity Manager/ Activity Leader experience
Summer school experience
Effective management skills
Demonstrable competence in leadership and related administration
Summer school and/or young learner experience
Working with children and teenagers from other cultures
Awareness of current child safeguarding policies and procedures

Degree Required

Qualifications

CELTA, Trinity, TEFLi/TEFLq, MA TESOL.
