Start your teaching adventure in Japan

Japan blends ancient tradition with futuristic energy, and there has never been a better time to teach there. Through TEFL UK you can apply once and be matched to one of Japan's largest and most established English education providers, including Shane English School, Interac (Japan's largest private ALT provider) and Nova, with more than 800 schools and centres between them.

Whether you want the buzz of Greater Tokyo, the affordability and community of a regional town, or the immersion of a more rural placement, we will help you find the right fit. No Japanese language skills required, and no prior experience needed for many roles.

As an English teacher in Japan your main role is to bring students' communication skills to life through engaging, enjoyable lessons, while acting as a cultural ambassador and role model. You could be working with young learners, teenagers, adults, or business professionals, depending on your placement.
