At North Star English, we're looking for an experienced, enthusiastic English teacher to join our team for the upcoming academic year.

Since opening our doors in 2019, we've built a reputation locally for genuinely caring about our students' progress. We have strong student and teacher retention, small class sizes, and a well-resourced syllabus that makes planning straightforward. It's the kind of place where teachers tend to stay.

About the Role
You'll be teaching across a wide range of ages, from our very youngest learners (4 years old) through to adults, with a particular focus on preparing students for Cambridge English exams (A2 to C1). Variety is part of the job one class might be a group of primary-age beginners, the next an adult working towards their B2 First.

Schedule: Part-time to start Monday to Thursday, 16:00 to 20:00, giving 16 contact hours per week. Fridays are always free.

Where you'll teach: Our academy is located in Morata de Tajua, easily reached by a 25-minute bus ride from Pavones.

Pay and Progression
1288 gross/month for 16 contact hours
Reviewed after a 6-month probation period, with a salary increase to 1376 upon successful completion
Additional teaching hours, when available, are paid at an extra rate
Extra hours are paid at 20.13 per hour. We expect to increase minimum teaching hours to 18 soon.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for a candidate who has demonstrable experience in similar roles and who is able to commit to staying with us for at least the full academic year of 26/27. Furthermore, you should have:

• A minimum of three years' English teaching experience
• Proven experience preparing students for Cambridge English exams (A2C1)
• A recognised TEFL, CELTA, or TESOL qualification
• Legal right to work in Spain (NIE/DNI and Social Security number) - due to EU laws, we cannot accept applications from candidates who are not currently legally allowed to work in Spain
• Strong classroom management and planning skills
• The ability to teach a variety of age groups, including young learners and teens
• A professional, friendly, team-oriented attitude

Classes begin on Monday 5th October. First interviews will be held online, and references will be required for successful candidates.
