We are looking for qualified and experienced native level English teachers to join the Rivers' team in Pontevedra for the academic year 2024-2025.

Rivers English School team is a friendly and motivated work place which prides itself on creating an environment for teachers and students to grow. Pontevedra is a beautiful city (small town) to live in and it is easy to commute on foot to most places, there are good transport links and lots to do and explore.

Degree Required

Teaching experience: 1 years

Native level English speaker preferred

Qualifications

An ideal candidate would have some experience working with children and/or adults in an educational or extra-curricular setting. In terms of qualifications we are keen to support employees to continue their professional development, however a minimum requirement is an ESL or English language teaching certificate.

Salary and Benefits

There are 2 positions available with competitive salaries based on the candidates suitability for the job. Candidates need to have availability in the afternoons and one morning at least if possible. Contracts are for around 10 or 20-25 hours a week with almost all classes being in person. We aim to match teachers with the groups which they are best suited to in terms of experience and preference with regards to ages but being a small centre this is not always 100% possible.

With regards to social life, Pontevedra has a lovely community of English speakers and events are organised to help new comers feel welcome and get to know the city.

Job Summary

Students are aged 3 upwards and an ideal candidate would be flexible with teaching all ages however it is not essential depending on timetables and contract hours. Groups are 6 maximum for children and 8 for adults. Full training is included for those unfamiliar with official English exams as we prepare students for Cambridge and Trinity exams. Classes are usually 1 hour and focused on developing speaking and listening skills whilst improving vocabulary and grammar in order to make good progress
