Details of Position

Centro Cultural Britanico has two open positions:

> 1 online specialist teacher to teach remotely
> 1 full time teacher to relocate to Costa Rica to teach both online and face to face classes

We are looking to recruit high quality professionals for a one- or two-year contract starting in May and July 2024.

CCB is a language school based in San José, Costa Rica founded by British and Costa Rican teachers with ample experience in ESL and teacher training. Our activities include the teaching of English as foreign languages for adults, training for teachers of English as foreign languages, preparation for University of Cambridge ESOL international examinations, IELTS, and consultancy for corporations and the Government in the linguistic development of their personnel. Our language courses are aligned with the Common European Framework.

Our teachers participate in our bi-weekly programme of professional development as well as personal professional development programmes with our Academic Director.

Applicants should have one of the following required qualifications:
Cambridge CELTA, Cambridge CELTA online, Trinity CertTESOL, Cambridge DELTA, Cambridge DELTA Online, Trinity DipTESOL, Trinity Joint CertTESOL, Trinity CertPT, TESOL Certificate , Masters MA TESOL, MA TEFL

Teaching experience: 1 years

Qualifications

* CELTA or equivalent and at least 1 year teaching experience.
Candidates with any of the following attributes will be given preference:
* Experience with Cambridge exams (examining and/or preparation)
* Experience teaching at a wide range of levels (A1-C2)

Salary and Benefits

Online Specialist Teacher: 8-14 hours guaranteed per week with a USD15 an hour payment. Time Zone is GMT-6 and classes will be held from 17:20 - 21:00 pm Monday to Thursday. This would be perfect for someone either living around Latin America or North America, or someone looking to work mornings in East Asia.

Full time Teacher: 26 hours per week. Salary paid in local currency. Current total gross compensation rate is equivalent to approximately USD1300 per month, which compares very well with local rates. Benefits include:
- 4 weeks paid holiday per year: 3 weeks over Christmas/New Year and 1 week mid-year. All national public holidays
- End-of-contract bonus for teachers hired abroad of $400 for one-year contracts or $1000 for two-year contracts.
- In-country work visa process and costs covered by school
- Costa Rican social security, which includes free medical care at any time
- Thirteenth month salary
- Ongoing professional development, training as Cambridge examiner for suita
