Company Overview
PLUS offers English courses to young learners aged 10-17. We provide a comprehensive package of tuition, social experience, and accommodation to international groups in our 12 dedicated junior schools over the Summer. We are one of the biggest summer school providers in the UK and are proud to be market leaders, fully accredited by the British Council. We aim for high standards in our programmes and consequently we are looking for enthusiastic, hard-working, outgoing staff.

The Activity Manager is responsible for overseeing the leisure programme, supervising Activity Leaders and ensuring the successful delivery of leisure activities and excursions. This role involves comprehensive staff management, including training, performance evaluation, and skilled conflict resolution..

Location
This role is residential only.
This is a temporary post based at one of our junior summer centres including in Bath, Ellesmere, London (Epsom, Kingston, Uxbridge and Central), Chelmsford, Hatfield, Loughborough, Ellesmere, Edinburgh, and Stirling.

Each centre starts and ends on different dates and run for different duration. Our biggest centre runs between mid June - 22nd August. The Activity Manager must be available for the whole duration of the centre.
You must be available to attend an Induction on 1st and 2nd June 2024 at our Chelmsford Campus.

Qualifications

You do not need any specific qualifications, but you will need to have relevant experience.

All current holders of roles involving responsibility for or substantial access to under 18s, and all new appointees to such roles, will have appropriate suitability checks, for example with the Disclosure and Barring Service (in England and Wales) or Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (in Scotland), in line with the organisations stringent safeguarding policy.

All gaps in employment will need to be explained, and a minimum of two references are required. These can be academic as well as professional.

All references will be contacted and specifically asked whether there is any reason that the applicant should not be working with anyone under the age of 18.

Salary and Benefits

Hours of Work
48 hours per week, across 6 days

Induction Training
Compulsory Induction training on 1st and 2nd June, 2024 which takes place at Chelmsford Campus. Travel expenses and the induction itself is paid.

Remuneration Package
You will be provided a full board accommodation for the duration of employment at the allocated centre, fully covered by PLUS.
The salary starts from £700 per week, depending on the centre and experience.
