The British School of Nardo' (Puglia Southern Italy) is looking for a qualified and experienced full-time EFL teacher for the next academic year. Applicants must have permission to work in the EU or hold a valid work permit for employment in the EU.
The preferred candidate should be able to teach children, teenagers, and adults and be familiar with the Cambridge English Exam Suite. Help and support, as well as didactic material, will be provided throughout the year by the Director of Studies.

The Role:
The available contract runs from 09/10/2023 to 31/05/2024 with the possibility of renewal. The contract is for 740 teaching hours, with an average of 22 teaching hours per week (Monday Friday). There is a percentage of out of school teaching (state schools), but the majority of teaching time is spent on premises. Teachers are also invited to lead and participate in extra-curricular activities and events. Teachers are required to maintain registers, administer tests

School Description:
We offer quality English language teaching to students of all ages (children, teenagers and adults) and levels, in small groups or 1:1. We teach general English and Cambridge / Edexcel / LanguageCert exam preparation. We strive for excellence and place the learners needs at the forefront of our professional practice. Each course follows a set syllabus and a main course book, but we bring the language off the page and engage the students with an eclectic use of materials, methodologies, and tasks based on the latest TEFL research. Under the guidance of our experienced DOS, Lucy, our brilliant teaching team is encouraged to reflect on, research, create, and share their knowledge and expertise. Most teachers choose to stay for several years, and some have settled here permanently.
The school itself is located in a large, newly-renovated, air-conditioned building in the town centre, just a stones throw away from Piazza Salandra. The classrooms are spacious, bright and airy, and equipped with the latest SMART Board technology and new laptops. Each teacher is allocated their own classroom for the year as well as their own storage cupboard. The school also benefits from a large internal social space and an external courtyard, as well as a self-access centre and a regularly updated resource library.

Accommodation:
Teachers have the option of shared accommodation (with a fellow teacher) in a fully-furnished, city centre
apartment close to the school. The rent is 250 PCM including all utility bills and taxes with the exception
of electricity.

Degree Required
