About the role
We are looking for an experienced ELT professional and academic programme manager to join our Head Office team and play a key role in the planning, development and delivery of our junior academic programmes.
Working directly with the Head of Academics, the Academic Programme Manager will help ensure that our programmes, teachers, materials and academic systems are fully prepared for delivery and maintain a consistently high standard throughout the summer.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining academic programme management, curriculum development, teacher recruitment, quality assurance and programme operations. It would suit an experienced ELT professional who enjoys taking responsibility, managing multiple workstreams and working collaboratively across an organisation.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate academic programmes from recruitment and preparation through to summer delivery and evaluation.
Support the development and quality assurance of syllabi, lesson materials, assessments, teacher handbooks and other academic resources.
Recruit, interview and onboard academic staff, and support teacher induction, training and professional development.
Coordinate academic administration, including timetables, placement testing, student academic records and programme documentation.
Support the implementation of programmes across multiple centres during peak delivery periods.
Carry out teacher observations and academic quality assurance, providing constructive feedback to teaching teams.
Help ensure programmes meet British Council requirements and accreditation standards.
Collect and analyse student and teacher feedback and contribute to programme evaluation and improvement.
Work closely with Operations, HR, Marketing and Sales to ensure smooth and accurate programme delivery.
Act as a Director of Studies (DoS) when required.
About you
We are looking for someone who has:
Significant experience in ELT, ideally including junior or summer school programmes.
A recognised ELT qualification such as DELTA, DipTesol or equivalent.
Experience in curriculum/materials development and academic programme management.
Experience recruiting, supporting and managing teaching staff.
A good understanding of British Council accreditation requirements.
Excellent organisational and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
The ability to manage several projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong IT skills, particularly with Excel and Microsoft Forms, and experience using digital learning or academic management systems.
A proactive, practical and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
A degree in Education, TESOL, Linguistics or a related field is expected; a relevant Master's degree would be an advantage.
Why join us?
This is an opportunity to take a central role in the academic operation of a growing junior ELT programme. You will work closely with the Head of Academics and have genuine responsibility for ensuring that our academic provision is well planned, well supported and delivered to a high standard.
