Details of Position
What distinguishes us from other schools is our focus on complementary services for our students, including a language laboratory staffed by qualified tutors to enable students to consolidate their learning in class. We also have a conversation room to help students improve their confidence and fluency in speaking English. Through the use of interactive technology our classroom lessons have become "smart", enabling absent students to participate remotely with the same quality of interaction they could expect in the physical classroom.
The ideal candidate will be a reliable team-player with a dynamic classroom presence and a passion for teaching. Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience of teaching young learners. Teachers will work 25 hours a week with duties including: teaching group and individual lessons; conversation; materials development and/or marking; exam invigilation. Teachers are given initial induction and ongoing professional development, paid holidays, and sick pay (on production of a valid medical certificate). We encourage teachers who meet the minimum professional requirements to train up as speaking examiners for Cambridge certifications.
Cagliari is a lively port city on the south coast of Sardinia, Italy's second largest island. The city offers a vibrant cultural scene and varied opportunities for outdoor activities in coastal and mountain settings. The climate is comparable to southern California. Qualifications
- you currently have the legal right to live and work in Italy;
- you have a native level of English;
- you possess Cambridge CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL or equivalent first teaching qualification;
- you possess a Bachelor's degree;
- you have a minimum 2 years' experience, preferably teaching a range of levels/age groups.
The ideal candidate will:
- be a Cambridge Assessment English speaking examiner;
- have a working knowledge of Italian (ideally to B1 level);
- have prior experience teaching young learners (ages 6-11).

Salary and Benefits
The contract is governed by Italian law and all social security contributions are paid in Italy, thus guaranteeing teachers a stable footing on which to build a life here. As an additional incentive, teachers will accumulate a generous severance payment of around one month's salary for every year of service ("TFR, trattamento fine rapporto").
