Details of Position
Set up in 1997, IALF Surabaya is the IELTS Test Centre for East Java and specialises in IELTS preparation courses, EAP, and pre-departure skills for public and donor-funded students. The centre also offers general English and Indonesian programmes for adults. IALF students are of high school age and above, and most are preparing either for study overseas or for career development.
IALF Surabaya is currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced English language teacher to take up positions in mid June 2017. We are looking at an initial one-year contract. Successful candidates meeting the minimum professional requirements may also apply for free IELTS examiner training at the centre, when available.

QualificationsIrrespective of qualifications and experience, Indonesian visa regulations dictate that IALF may only consider applicants holding passports from countries in which English is recognised officially as the first language. We will not respond to applicants who do not fulfil this requirement.
. Undergraduate degree (English Language/Linguistics/ESOL/ELT preferred)
. Cambridge CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL (or equivalent. The qualification must meet recognised standards)
. At least 2 years classroom-based experience teaching English to adults and/or teenagers at a reputable institution
. Excellent references
. Proficient level of computer literacy - MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
. Drive, energy, initiative and enthusiasm
. A willingness to learn and to develop teaching skills across a range of programmes
. A willingness to work within a tightly-knit teaching team

. A master's degree in ELT / TESOL
. Experience of teaching IELTS preparation courses, EAP and pre-departure skills
. Current IELTS examiner status or extensive familiarity with the test
. Experience of working in a developing country (preferably in South East Asia)

Salary and BenefitsIALF offers a competitive financial and benefits package based on qualifications and experience.
. Contracts available are for one year (commencing late March 2017 and mid-June 2017)
. Take-home monthly salaries range from IDR17,500,000 (Step 1) to IDR26,500,000 (Step 10)
. IELTS examining can be part of deployment for IELTS examiners. Speaking exams conducted on Saturdays are paid as overtime and can boost salary by up to IDR2,000,000 per month.
. Expacare medical insurance, including hospitalisation and medical evacuation
. Sponsorship for a KITAS visa and MERP (multiple re-entry visa), both valid for one year and extendable
. End-of-contract flight assistance of IDR20,000,000 to be paid in Rupiah upon successful completion of each 1 year of continuous full-time employment (pro-rated for shorter contracts)
. 30 paid working days annual leave, plus Indonesian public holidays
. Up to 15 days paid sick leave per annum
. In-bound flight and visa expenses reimbursed
. On-arrival accommodation allowance of IDR3,000,000 (one time payment)
