Details of Position
General Tasks and Responsibilities:
-Manage testing of students' language proficiency to include the development, administration, and evaluation of language tests.
-Oversee the testing labs and programs, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to established protocols.
-Ensure all testing practices and curriculum meets the Defense Language English Language Center (DLIELC) standards, to include the development and maintenance of testing materials, scoring criteria, and evaluation procedures.
-Maintain and secure confidential records ensuring compliance with data protection and security protocols.
-Collaborate with instructional staff to align testing practices with the language training curriculum and provide feedback for instructional improvement.
-Ensure there is an Alternate Testing Control Officer (ATCO) when required.
Qualifications
-Must speak American English at a native level.
-A bachelors degree from an accredited US institution that includes or is supplemented by a major study in English as a Second Language (ESL), English as a Foreign Language (EFL), Linguistics, Foreign Languages, or Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages (TESOL), OR a minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience, within the past five (5) years, working as a testing administrator.
-Capable of acting as a classroom instructor if necessary
-Familiarity with the Defense Language Institute English Language Center (DLIELC) standards for testing and curriculum.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Knowledge of language testing, best practices and methodologies is preferred.
-Three years' experience as a testing officer or test administration is highly preferred.
