Monty English offer English lessons and conversation classes to non-native speakers. Our conversation groups take place in a restaurant cafè near Tottenham Court Road station. There is a friendly and fun atmosphere and a good group of regulars come along. Our aim is to make learners feel comfortable and enjoy their learning experience.

Job Summary

Details of Position

This is a unique opportunity for someone new to teaching or someone with experience who likes the idea of building a group and socialising as well as helping attendees with their English skills.

Your role would be as an English teacher / facilitator for a conversation group which takes place in central London (near Tottenham Court Road station) three times a week:
- Wednesday 6.30pm
- Friday 5pm & 6.30pm

The post will initially be just for the Wednesday evening with a view to taking on Friday after initial one-month trial period. If you would only be interested in working on Wednesdays then please specify this in your application.

Conversation topics, any promotional material and tickets provided.

Students pay for classes so cash and card payments must be handled at each meeting.

The ideal candidate would be able to help students but also look to consolidate and grow the group. This would mean socialising after classes, actively thinking of new ways to boost numbers and the possibility of opening additional groups in new or existing venues.

A fixed hourly rate plus a generous commission-based share of profits.

Qualifications

CELTA certificate desirable but not necessary.

Salary and Benefits

£12 per hour
30% commission on profits
