  • United Kingdom, Cambridge, St. Andrews, London, Durham

  • Experience: NOT APPLICABLE
  • Positions: 10
  • Degree Required
  • Short Term/Summer job, Residential

Details of Position

Kingdom Education run academically focussed summer schools for aspirational students who are often prospective UK undergraduate students. Our summer schools are generally smaller in size than many other summer schools and our students are keen and enthusiastic to learn. This offers a rewarding experience for both students and staff where the focus is on learning and developing rather than ‘summer fun’. Kingdom Education is a ‘different kind of summer school’ offering university preparation programmes to academically able students, many of whom will be native or near-native English speakers. Students on our programmes are there to study and our programmes are accordingly both challenging and engaging.
Students can expect to study for most of the day in some capacity and very little time is dedicated to games and shopping! Successful applicants will need to identify with our style and our aspirations.
We are accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC).
Our programmes are based in the UK at King's College London; St Catharine's College, Cambridge; Durham University (St. Chad’s College); and the University of St. Andrews.
CENTRE MANAGERS:
Centre managers take overall responsibility for the successful operation of the centre of which they are in charge. Their duties are very varied, but ultimately revolve around the need to do whatever is required to ensure that the centre runs well, with happy students and happy staff.
A Centre Manager with Kingdom Education (KE) has overall responsibility for the management of a centre, although responsibility for the academic programmes rests in the first instance with the Director of Studies. A Centre Manager takes direct responsibility for setting up and managing activities and study visits, transfers, student welfare, accommodation and liaison with venue staff. The duties are performed with the support of the Country Manager and the Principal.
Everyone working with KE should maintain and exhibit a positive attitude at all times.
Please be aware that we will be conducting background checks on all successful applicants. We would ask anyone who has a police record of any kind to contact us first to discuss this before making an application; subsequent discovery of a record would disqualify automatically.
We are currently looking for the following people. Dates reflect the periods when students are in residence. Payment is for the number of weeks specified, plus one week’s preparation time, part of which is spent at the centre, part in liaising with Head Office prior to the start of the season.
