INTERNATIONAL CAMP SANCELSO - ICS 2024
General information for Counsellors
1. Where
The International Camp Sancelso is held in Castione at the Casa Vacanze Villa Sanceso: the address is via Risorgimento 42, 24020 Castione della Presolana (BG).
It is a residential camp; participants, counsellors, staff and managers stay there for the whole duration of the Camp.

2. When
Here are the periods (4) for summer 2024:
23 - 29 JUNE: FIRST PERIOD
30 JUNE - 13 JULY: SECOND PERIOD
14 - 27 JULY: THIRD PERIOD
28 JULY - 10 AUGUST: FOURTH PERIOD
These are periods of 1 or 2 consecutive weeks. Counsellors take part in the periods according to their availability (up to a maximum of 4 consecutive weeks).

3. Meeting point
Milan, for departure by bus on the starting day of the chosen period (see the website for timetables and addresses); or directly to the location in Castione della Presolana by own means.
It is necessary to communicate your choice in advance.
Is it possible to get to Castione della Presolana e.g. a day in advance? Yes.

4. The participants
The participants are aged between 6 and 17. They will mostly be Italian.

5. The groups
During each period we host 110-120 participants; these are divided according to age into 6 groups of about 20 participants each.
Each group is supervised by TWO different counsellors working in pairs (usually one male and one female).
The counsellors stay with their group for the entire duration of the period.
There are 14 counsellors per period (12 for the groups + 2 counsellors whose role is to replace counsellors who are resting, so they will change groups every day; see 7. Counsellors' free time); the ratio is about 1 counsellor per 10 participants.

6. Daily timetable
7:30 Wake up time;
8:00 Breakfast;
8:45 Tidy up the rooms, finishing the participants' daily personal hygiene routine; 9:00 Group meeting and morning activity;
12:30 Lunch time (in the house or packed sandwiches);
13:30 supervised free time and relax time;
14:30 Afternoon activity;
15:15 Snack time;
18:00 Shower time;
19:00 Dinner time;
20:00 Mobile phone time: participants' mobile phones are kept in the secretary's office, they will only have them available for one hour per day;
21:00 Night activities (movie night, karaoke night etc.);
22:30 Good night.

7. Counsellors' free time
Each week each counsellor will have a day off (each week thus consists of 6 working days + 1 day off).
There will be a break between periods, because participants will leave on Saturday morning and participants of the following period will arrive the next morning.

8. Accommodation
We will all be together in a big house (Villa Sancelso), with four floors and about forty bedrooms + activity rooms. The bedrooms have about four beds + bathroom.

9. Language
It will be English for all; there will be no classroom lessons, participants will practice their knowledge of English and improve it through speaking.
