Details of Position
The British School of Brindisi is looking for full time teachers for the academic year 2026/27.
We are looking for qualified and experienced teachers to teach IGCSE MATHS and GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES and General English/Cambridge Exam Prep courses.
Familiarity with Cambridge English exams is essential. Experience as a Cambridge speaking examiner would be an advantage, but the school provides training for teachers who have more than two years experience.
The position involves:
- an average of 25 teaching hours per week
- course administration e.g. report writing and completing registers; attending teachers meetings
- teaching on and off site
- support from experienced academic staff (DoS, Senior Teachers) plus in-house training e.g. workshops, seminars and sharing sessions
- observations
- a supportive and cooperative atmosphere
- help finding accommodation
Qualifications
Cambridge CELTA
Essential requirements:
- CELTA or equivalent
- native level speaker of English
- experience teaching at all levels
Desirable qualifications:
- experience as a Cambridge speaking examiner
- post-CELTA qualifications e.g. Delta, MA, CELTYL etc
- some knowledge of Italian
- self-motivated and prepared to tackle all tasks
- ability to work under direction and as a team player
- a flexible and willing approach to the various duties
- an interest in professional development
Salary and Benefits
The appointment will be under a fixed-term employment contract, commencing in September/October 2026 and concluding at the end of the academic year.
As a Teacher, you will be expected to:
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons to groups and individual students.
Prepare students for Cambridge English Qualifications, where applicable.
Monitor students' progress and maintain accurate attendance registers, academic records, and reports.
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and school events as required.
Work collaboratively with the Director of Studies and the teaching team to ensure the highest academic standards.
Comply with the school's academic policies and procedures.
Contract Type: Fixed-term employment contract for the 20262027 academic year.
Teaching Hours: 25 teaching hours per week.
Salary: The agreed annual gross salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments throughout the duration of the contract. Any outstanding amounts resulting from the final reconciliation of the employment relationship, including accrued contractual entitlements where applicable, will be calculated and paid upon completion of the fixed-term contract at the end of the academic year.
