About StudyRoom

StudyRoom is an established and fast-growing language center located in the heart of Almaty. For more than 10 years, we have taught children, teenagers and adults and prepared students for international exams, including IELTS, SAT and TOEFL.

You will join a supportive academic team of approximately four native English-speaking teachers and 15 local teachers. We provide weekly professional development, practical mentorship, peer observations and regular feedback.

What You Will Do

• Teach children from Grade 1 using play-based, phonics-focused and TPR-rich activities.
• Teach General English and Business English to adult learners.
• Plan engaging, level-appropriate lessons based on students needs and learning goals.
• Monitor student progress and complete brief academic reports.
• Deliver most classes at our language center in central Almaty.
• Participate in selected projects at partner schools, universities or corporate client locations.
• Attend weekly professional development sessions.
• Observe colleagues, share teaching strategies and explore new methodologies.
• Contribute ideas for clubs, projects and new learning formats.
• Take part in school events, celebrations and community activities.

What You Bring

• A valid passport, or native-level English proficiency combined with eligibility for our sponsored visa route.
• A bachelors degree, preferably in Education, English, Linguistics, Pedagogy, Humanities or a related field.
• A recognized TEFL, TESOL or CELTA certificate is strongly preferred.
• Candidates with a degree in another subject may be considered if they have strong, relevant teaching experience.
• Experience teaching children from Grade 1.
• Experience teaching teenagers or adults.
• Warm, confident and effective classroom management skills.
• Familiarity with TPR, phonics and play-based learning for children.
• Familiarity with Communicative Language Teaching, Task-Based Learning or CLIL for teenagers and adults.
• A collaborative, adaptable and enthusiastic approach.
• Willingness to provide a criminal background check.
