The Academy of English is a well-established language school located in the beautiful coastal city of Siracusa, Sicily. The Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will have:
Demonstrated experience teaching Young Learners.
A background in preparing students for Cambridge English examinations.
CELTA, TEFL, or equivalent certification
Qualifications
Cambridge CELTA
Required:
Experience teaching young learners
Degree
CELTA or equivalent teaching qualification, e.g. the Trinity Cert Tesol
Right to work in the EU
Desirable:
Experience teaching Cambridge English exam preparation courses
Experience teaching online
Salary and Benefits
Contract: FIDEF (Italian National Confederation of Educational Institutions) contract
Period of contract: October 1st 2026 - June 30th 2027
Hours: 100 hours monthly
- A minimum monthly starting salary of 1300 (one thousand three hundred euros)
- An end-of-contract bonus of 50 (fifty euros) per each month worked.
- An additional 50 (fifty euros) per month is paid as a fringe benefit to cover utility expenses .
- Christmas and Easter holidays are paid in full.
- All Italian national and public holidays are paid in full.
- 2 additional paid days off during the academic year
- Our housing department provides professional assistance in finding suitable accommodation within walking distance of our school.
- Two consecutive days off per week (teachers who work on Saturdays have their day off on Mondays).
- Internal training sessions are timetabled within contracted working hours.
- Bi-weekly lesson planning sessions and ELT book clubs for teachers keen to develop.
