Position as Assistant Academic Manager

Location: Chester
Full-time: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday) between the hours of 08.30 and 17.30, with some flexibility required.
Salary: £37500 per annum
Holiday entitlement: 33 days

ELC Chester is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Academic Manager to support the development and delivery of high-quality English language programmes to students from the age of 13 up to 80+.
This is a full-time position combining teaching and academic management. Working closely with the Academic Manager and Centre Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining academic standards, supporting teachers, and ensuring an excellent student experience.

The Role
You will:
Teach across a range of courses including General English, exam preparation, teen and specialist programmes
Ensure teaching, learning activities and materials are age-appropriate (where applicable) for under-18s.
Support the coordination of placement testing, student grouping and course documentation
Monitor attendance, student progress and academic standards
Conduct lesson observations and provide developmental feedback
Mentor and support teaching staff
Contribute to recruitment, induction and CPD
Deputise for the Academic Manager when required

About You
You will have:
A CELTA or equivalent, plus DELTA (or equivalent TEFLQ qualification)
At least 5 years post-qualification ELT teaching experience
Strong organisational and communication skills
A clear understanding of safeguarding in an educational setting
Good computer skills including excel. Knowledge of Class or other SMS an advantage.

It will be an advantage to have:
Experience teaching young learners (13+)
Experience in academic coordination or senior teacher responsibilities
Experience of lesson observation and teacher development
