Head of Activities Summer Residential Programmes
Churchill House is seeking a Head of Activities to lead and support Activity Managers across our summer residential centres for young learners aged 1017.

This is a senior operational role based at Head Office, responsible for:
Preparing Activity Managers before summer
Standardising excursion delivery
Monitoring and improving feedback
Delivering CPD during summer
Ensuring no recurring operational issues beyond Week 1 (ensuring all operational issues are dealt with in a timely manner)
Developing structured, modern team-building activities
We are looking for someone who:
Is calm, organised and decisive
Has experience managing managers (managerial experience)
Understands safeguarding and residential operations
Finishes what they start (ability to follow through on tasks)
Uses feedback to drive improvement
Can intervene early and professionally

This is not a creative camp leader role. It is a structured leadership position focused on quality, accountability and consistency.

Degree Required

Native level English speaker preferred

Qualifications

Management Experience: Previous management experience in a summer school environment, managing multiple departments and teams.
Coaching and Sports/Team Management: Experience in coaching, sports/team management, with a minimum of 1 year of professional experience working with children.
Summer School Experience: Previous Summer School experience and/or experience working with international students is essential.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will be working remotely with the rest of the management team from March 2026 remotely on a part time basis, with objectives set monthly by the Operations Manager.
From June 2024 until the end of August the candidate will be based in Ramsgate with accommodation provided.
The salary will be discussed at interview, as full time salary is currently 1075GBP per full-time residential week.
