Located in the busy commercial heart of Cagliari, the Academy seeks qualified teachers for the period September 2026 - May 2027, with the possibility of extension beyond then. Our school caters all age groups, from primary school up to adults, offering general English and preparation courses for Cambridge English examinations. What distinguishes us from other schools is our focus on complementary services for our students, including a language laboratory staffed by qualified tutors to enable students to consolidate their learning in class. We also have three conversation rooms to help students improve their confidence and fluency in speaking English. Through the use of interactive technology our classroom lessons have become "smart", enabling absent students to participate remotely with the same quality of interaction they could expect in the physical classroom.

The ideal candidate will be a reliable team-player with a dynamic classroom presence and a passion for teaching. Teachers will work 25 hours a week with duties including (but not limited to): teaching group and individual lessons, both on and off-site; conversation lessons; exam invigilation; Cambridge speaking examiner duties. Teachers are given initial induction and ongoing professional development, paid holidays, and sick pay (on production of a valid medical certificate).

Cagliari is a lively port city on the south coast of Sardinia, Italy's second largest island. Essential criteria (please read carefully):

• native level of English (minimum C2);
• in possession of Cambridge CELTA, Trinity CertTESOL or equivalent first teaching qualification;
• educated to Bachelor's degree level;
• experience teaching a range of levels/age groups;
• legal right to live and work in Italy.
• clean driving license, valid for use in Italy.

An intermediate level in Italian (CEFR level B1) is highly desirable.

The legal right to live and work in Italy is defined as follows:

• possession of a valid EU passport;
• for non-EU passport holders, possession of a valid permesso di soggiorno;
• for UK citizens, possession of a valid carta di soggiorno under the terms of the UK-EU withdrawal agreement, issued to UK citizens resident in Italy on 31 December 2020.

Applicants not in possession of a valid drivers license or the legal right to live and work in Italy will not be considered and will not be contacted.

Salary: 1550 EUR (net) after taxes.
