Details of Position

Gain or expand your teaching experience at one of our Stafford House Study Holidays centres this summer! We are actively recruiting EFL Teachers and Senior EFL teacher and a Director of Studies for our summer programme from late-June to August 2026. In return, we offer a range of contract options, competitive pay, full-board accommodation in most of our centres across the UK.

Who are we?
Stafford House Study Holidays are a leading provider of Junior English and Activity programmes. We are British Council-accredited, a member of English UK and Young Learners English UK, and an authorised Trinity College examination centre. We pride ourselves on our high standards and the level of support offered to our teaching staff.
Each summer, Stafford House Study Holidays welcomes over 6,000 young learners from around the world to the UK (late Junemid August). Students enjoy engaging English lessons alongside a full programme of activities and excursions during their holiday.

Our aim is to help students improve their English, experience British culture, make new friends, and grow in confidence. Were looking for enthusiastic team members who can lead, inspire, and help create an unforgettable summer experience



We offer

  • Full-board accommodation for full-time contracts (42 hrs/week) at most centres (UK right to work required; we are unable to sponsor you)
  • Small class sizes (up to 15 students)
  • Provided lesson materials from a structured syllabus
  • CPD, appraisals, and academic support from an experienced Senior Leadership Team who return year-on-year
  • Teaching multinational students aged 8-17
  • Potential for teaching opportunities in our year-round schools after summer

Incentives: Suitably qualified and experienced teaching staff who complete a minimum of 4 weeks work during Summer 2026 may be eligible to apply for a free DELTA Module 1 course, delivered by Stafford House International, London.
All qualifying: Teaching staff are welcome to take part an additional CPD course such as "Teach Business English / Teach Exam Skills / Teach Young Learners post contract

What you'll need

Please see the qualification section as this is essential for this role

Applicants must have the right to work in the UK (we are unable to sponsor)

You must be available between late June and mid-August (minimum 3 weeks which must be within July 2026 as this is our busiest time)



EFL Teachers:

Locations: Cambridge, Northampton, York, Bournemouth, Oakham, Canterbury, Uxbridge (London)

Residential Contracts: 42 hours contracts - 6 days per week (usually Monday to Saturday). 15-30 hours teaching + teacher admin time, welfare of student time and/or leading excursions/activities

Pay: £577.47 per week / £583.03 1+ years experience / £594.14. for 3+ years experience + holiday entitlement includes full-board accommodation

Non residential contracts: 16 - 42 hours per week (depending on centre) from £260.33 - £639.60 per week depending on contract



Senior Teacher:

Locations: York and Northampton
*Cambridge/Uxbridge/Bournemouth/Uxbridge/Canterbury/Oakham/Bloomsbury - FULL

Residential/Non-residential contracts: 42 hours per week over 6 days (usually Monday to Saturday). This consists of 15 or 30 hours teaching + additional duties such as assisting the DoS, student welfare time and leading excursions/activities as required.

Pay:
£624.59 per week + holiday entitlement for residential positions - includes full board accommodation

£664.55 per week + holiday entitlement for non-residential positions



Director of Studies:

Locations: York and Northampton
*Cambridge/Uxbridge/Bournemouth/Uxbridge/Canterbury/Oakham/Bloomsbury - FULL

Residential contracts: 60 hours per week over 6 days. York - 27th June - 26th July. Northampton - 4th July - 9th August

Pay: £821.40 per week + *holiday entitlement - includes full board accommodation

Qualifications

Teachers must be EFL/TESOL qualified (e.g. CELTA, CertTESOL or another TEFL certificate which meets Accreditation UK criteria, or higher). We also welcome applicants with PGCEs (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent in English, Modern Foreign Languages or Primary education
*All teaching qualifications must include a minimum of 6-hours observed teaching practice. This is where you were observed teaching EFL students in a live environment as part of your course. Qualifications such as MA TESOL and TEFL courses must provide evidence of the teaching component. We are unable to proceed without this, in line with Accreditation UK standards.

Senior teachers must the above, and have a minimum of 3-years EFL classroom experience and preferably have experience of working within a UK summer school.

Director of Studies must be DELTA qualified (or equivalent) and have a minimum of 3-years EFL classroom experience and preferably have experience of working within a UK summer school.

Rates range from £260.33 - £664.55 per week, plus holiday entitlement. This will depend on the role, location, your experience, whether you are residential or non-residential, and the hours you work per week.

We offer qualifying teachers an optional CPD Short course, provided by our Teacher Training School, post contract
