Cambridge School has 10 high-quality language schools in the Vallès Oriental and Maresme counties, both just outside Barcelona. We have an excellent reputation as the largest quality language school in Catalonia and as a DELTA training centre. We teach young learner, adult, Cambridge exam preparation and in-company courses. We are the only school in our area to be accredited by the School of Modern Languages of the University of Barcelona.

All our schools have fully-equipped classrooms with interactive whiteboards, fibre-optic internet connection and access to our bank of supplementary material and resources.

Our schools offer a supportive, friendly work environment. All our new teachers are assigned a mentor to help them adapt to our systems and procedures. We provide ongoing professional training through seminars and observations which can help teachers further develop their skills. The Vallès Oriental and Maresme are 30mins by train from Barcelona. The Vallès Oriental is 30mins from the Montseny national park our school in the Maresme is in Matar, a thriving coastal city with a popular beach. Most of our teachers live in Granollers and Matar, the county capitals, with populations of 60,000 and 150,000 respectively. Both have cinemas, gyms, parks and lots of great places to eat, drink and socialise. Our HR team organises accommodation for new teachers in shared teacher flats or with local people.

Our 2026-27 academic year runs from 14th September to 19th June and our summer courses run from 28th June to 30th July.

Cambridge CELTA

• EU nationals or non-EU nationals with legal right to work in Spain ONLY. Due to Britain leaving the European Union, UK citizens can only work in Spain if they are currently resident and have an TIE identification number.
• Teachers with native-level competence and pronunciation ONLY.
• CELTA or Trinity CertTesol ONLY.
• Full, clean driving licence and willingness to drive essential.
• Candidates must live locally, in Granollers or Matar.

Salary

• The guaranteed minimum salary for a new teacher is 17,002.04 euros gross for 748hrs teaching between 14th Sept and 19th June (approximately 21hrs per week). This is based on an hourly rate of 22.73. The annual salary is divided up as follows: 962.38 in September, 1,688.39 per month from October to May, 1063.69 in June, plus an extra holiday payment of 1,468.90 in June. Teachers who work more than the 748hrs guaranteed minimum (most teachers do!), earn extra hours at the rate of 22.73 per hour.
• Teachers who start later in the year are guaranteed the proportional annual hours and salary. Their monthly salary, 1,688.39, is the same as for teachers who started in September.
• Teachers who work on our 5-week summer course earn an additional 1,800.00 or more.

Holidays
-We have two weeks' holiday for Christmas and one week for Easter plus at least seven bank holidays during the year.
