ELC is recruiting for an enthusiastic teacher interested in developing professionally to join our successful school. We are dedicated to Professional Development and we offer regular training sessions and on-going support in all areas of teaching. It is an ideal opportunity for teachers of all levels of experience to develop in a well-established, friendly and supportive school.
As we have a majority of learners aged between 10 and 17, we are looking for teachers who are enthusiastic about teaching this age group, as well as general English to adults. We will also prioritise teachers who are keen to teach ages 7 11.
This is a short-term freelance post, to begin as soon as possible (February/March 2026) until June. There is then the possibility to continue on a contractual basis from September 2026.

ELC opened 2006 and has a very solid reputation in the local community. We offer courses of English and Portuguese for Foreigners to adults, teenagers, young learners as well as one-to-one and business clients. The school is a Cambridge English Examination Preparation Centre, with an excellent reputation for success, and accredited by the Portuguese Ministry of Education. With a team of around 16 teachers it's a very easy place to fit in and feel comfortable!

Applicant must:

• have permission to work in the EU or hold a valid work permit for employment in the EU.
• have a university degree and an EFL qualification - Cambridge CELTA, Trinity TESOL or equivalent.
• be native level speakers of English and either have permission to work in the EU or hold a valid work permit for employment in Portugal.
