Details of Position
Discovery Summer is recruiting committed professional EFL teachers for residential summer posts in leading UK boarding schools. Experienced and newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply. You will need a CELTA, TESOL, PGCE or equivalent TEFL qualification.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, engaging English as a Foreign Language lessons for international children and teenagers.
Lessons are lively, interactive, and fun. Learning activities help international students develop accuracy, fluency, and confidence in spoken English. You will also complete related lesson admin tasks (e.g. lesson planning and marking) and assist with pastoral duties.

- Benenden School, Kent (8-12 years, 13-16 years) Wed 8 July - Fri 7 Aug
- Marymount International School, Kingston-upon-Thames (8-13 years) Fri 17 July - Sat 1 Aug
- Shrewsbury School, Shropshire (11-16 years) Mon 29 June - Wed 29 July
- Winchester College, Hampshire (13-16 years) Wed 1 July - Fri 31 July
You will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality, communicative EFL lessons. Lessons will include engaging activities to help students develop accuracy, fluency and most importantly, confidence in spoken English.
Duties:
-20 hours teaching per week
-Attend meetings, plan lessons
-Carry out some additional duties each week e.g. wake-up, bedtime, house night games
-Ensure safeguarding and welfare of students and respond sensitively to pastoral matters
-Sleep on-site, normally in a room near the students
The working week:
-Residential staff work a 6-day week
-1 x 24-hour period off per week. (Shrewsbury - Sundays, Winchester - Sundays, Benenden - Wednesdays, Marymount - Sundays)
-Some time off on working days

Qualifications
TEFLI Qualification, e.g. CELTA, Trinity TESOL, B.Ed./PGCE (Primary Education, English or MFL) or EFL Level 5 equivalent (other qualifications will be considered)
You need to be able to:
Provide a clear and accurate model of the English language
Plan and deliver engaging, student-centred, interactive lessons
Apply classroom management techniques to ensure happy, collaborative, focused classrooms
Respond and adapt to feedback, be flexible
To succeed in this role, you should already have:
Previous experience in a residential setting
Experience working with multi-lingual / international children and teens
