At Bucksmore, our Activity Managers play a vital role in creating a social programme where students contiue yo practise English, build confidence, have fun and form international friendships. Because learning doesnt stop when the lesson ends, the social programme is just as important as the classroom.
The position of Activity Manager (AM) is a highly responsible and challenging role, suitable only for those with excellent leadership, communication, time management and organisational skills. The AMs chief role is to plan and organise the activity programme and effectively manage the Counsellors involved in each activity. The AM will ensure that each activity is prepared, implemented and correctly supervised as set out by the Bucksmore Head Office. As one of the senior managers the AM will work closely with the Centre Manager and Director of Studies to ensure the smooth day to day running of the centre.
As an Activity Manager, you can apply your teaching skills in a new way, using your strengths in communication, motivation, and classroom management to support the social programme. You will help students develop real-life language skills by creating activities that give them meaningful opportunities to use English in authentic situations. The role also allows you to develop leadership and management skills, as you plan programmes, lead staff, and take responsibility for student wellbeing. By organising trips, events, and evening activities, you will create memorable experiences that often become the highlights of a students summer. Most importantly, you will make a real impact, as the social programme is just as important as classroom lessons in helping students grow in confidence and independence.

Qualifications

- Native or native level English speaker
- Management experience in a residential environment with young people
such as a school, university, summer school or similar environment
-Ability to work as part of a team Exceptional organisational skills Proven ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritise and manage a varied workload
- Experience of working with young learners and delivering a programme of
study for young learners
- Proficiency in standard office software and data management
- Experience working with international students, familiarity with cultural
differences, and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds

Successful candidates will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check (and a police check if you reside outside the UK).
You will also need to provide proof of identity, such as a passport or driving license, for our records.
Bucksmore will cover the upfront cost of the Enhanced DBS check (currently £49.50) and the DBS Update Service subscription (currently £13).
50% of the total cost will be reclaimed from your first pay run.
If you return to work with us in subsequent years, you must maintain your Update Service subscription. Failure to do so will mean you are responsible for the full cost of a new Enhanced DBS check.
