Part of the Stafford House Cambridge Teaching Team
Join our welcoming and professional team of English teachers at Stafford House School, located in the heart of the historic city of Cambridge.
This Academic English Teacher position is ideal for experienced educators, particularly those with a background in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and exam preparation. The role is offered on a one-year fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension, and includes 19 hours of classroom teaching per week, along with time allocated for planning, administration, and continuing professional development (CPD).
In this role, you will primarily deliver IELTS-focused Academic English courses to students at the Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts (CSVPA). These students are developing their English skills alongside their main areas of study in the visual and performing arts.
Your teaching will help students build their academic language skills, improve IELTS performance, and prepare for success in higher education.
You may also be scheduled at times to teach classes within Stafford Houses year-round language programmes, supporting a diverse and international student body.
Qualifications
- CELTA (preferred DELTA or MA)
- At least 3 years teaching experience
- Thorough knowledge of IELTS
- Experience of teaching for exam preparation
- Experience of teaching EAP
- Commitment to delivering high quality lessons
- Solid classroom management skills
- Excellent IT skills

Salary and Benefits
19 teaching hours per week and the admin usually associated with teaching, (planning preparation, marking etc.) with the possibility of doing extra hours at an enhanced rate. The contract also includes 3 development hours per week.
£24,158 - £25,486 per annum
