A small school, Blue Door is a very professional organisation and a member of ACEIA, the association of professional language schools in Andalusia. Most of our students are children or young adults and many of them take the Cambridge and Trinity examinations.

Established in 1999, Blue Door operates from two locations in Cordoba City: one in the heart of the city centre and the other in a prestigious local school. We have a small team of dedicated teachers who enjoy teaching learners of all ages from YLs and VYLs to college students and professionals, and students of all levels from beginners to advanced. Our sister company, Spainwise Teacher Training, provides free accredited teacher training so that all our teachers, wherever they are on their teaching journey, receive the support they need. All teachers have their own classrooms in the main school, and all classrooms are equipped with laptops, projectors and internet connection. Both teachers and students can use Blue Door's learning online platform to access course content and resources remotely. Blue Door is a member of ACEIA (the Association of Private Language Schools in Andalusia), and of FECEI (the National Federation of Private Language Schools in Spain).

Qualifications

We value the following:

Technical Ability

* Proficient English speaker
* European passport-holder/eligibility to work in the EU
* Teaching qualification (e.g. Trinity CertTESOL)
* Relevant experience, especially experience with young learners and/or preparation for Cambridge exams
* Working knowledge of Spanish

Soft Skills

* Empathetic to young learners and very young learners
* Strong work ethic
* Time management skills

Salary and Benefits

The gross salary is 1,460.00 euros per month

AND the school will cover the cost of either

Trinity College London's Certificate for Teaching Speakers of Other Languages (valued at 1,500 euros)
(Level 5 on OFQUAL's Regulated Qualifications Framework)

or

Trinity College London's Certificate for Practising Teachers: Teaching YLs and VYLS (valued at 795 euros)(Level 6 on OFQUAL's Regulated Qualifications Framework)

The contract is from October 2024 to June 2025 (renewable), and teachers have two weeks' paid holiday at Christmas and a week's paid holiday at Easter, as well as all local and national holidays.
Contract: 34-hour contract, including 24 hours of classes (per week)
