Job Summary

Details of Position

GENERAL:
1. Teach adult learners online.
2. Use set materials based on course books created by prestigious publishing houses.
3. Prepare lessons thoroughly, and in some cases correct written assignments outside scheduled class times.

GENERAL ENGLISH:
Teach with an emphasis on spoken English, but with systematic work on all four skills, plus grammar and vocabulary development. Classes are based on material from Oxford University Press.

EXAMINATION PREPARATION:
Teach courses to prepare students for IELTS, TOEFL and/or TOEIC. Classes are based on material from Barron's.

SALES-ORIENTED DEMO CLASSES:
Engage potential students through a short introductory class illustrating the value of a TutorABC programme. Classes are based on material from Oxford University Press.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL:
1. Native-level speaker of English.
2. Bachelor degree from an accredited university or similar.
3. CELTA or demonstrable equivalent.
4. Substantial teaching experience in General English for adults at all levels, teaching along CELTA lines, plus IELTS, TOEFL and/or TOEIC if applying to teach these.
5. Familiarity with a range of relevant course materials.
6. A high level of linguistic awareness.
7. A high level of computer skills.
8. Friendly, engaging personality.
9. Willingness to work flexible hours.
10. Application should include a customized cover letter.

DESIRABLE
1. Experience with online teaching.
2. Post-CELTA training and qualifications.

Salary and Benefits

1. The new standard rate for each of the 45-minute classes as described above is up to USD 18.
