Our clients are now looking for Primary EAL / English teachers to work in Government Schools in Brunei. All applicants MUST have experience working in a Primary School with a formal teaching qualification.
Details of Position
Brunei operates a four term year, each of 10/11 weeks, with a 10 day or 2 week holiday between each term and then 4 or 5 weeks in December. The school year comprises a total of about 200 days.
All applicants must meet the requirements in terms of experience and education.
To be eligible to apply you MUST HAVE the following:
BA Degree or BA Education & PGCE (from the UK, Ireland, Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa).
Qualified teacher status/teacher accreditation is Mandatory (PGCE, BEd, DipT etc.)
o BA Degree & TEFL/CELTA/ other ESL certificates alone WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
MUST HAVE experience teaching EAL within Primary Schools
Minimum 3 years relevant classroom teaching experience post PGCE qualification.
All teachers must have EAL / English teaching experience.
The MoE will not accept candidates that have too many short term / temporary posts. They select teachers with proven long term contracts within schools.
All teachers must have a current driving licence and must be willing to drive in Brunei or be able to rely upon someone in their household who can drive.
All candidates must be under the age of 55 for MoE approval.
Salary and Benefits
The Average Salary is (BDN 3,500 5,000 per month) approximately calculated at £23,000 - £34,000 yearly depending on currency exchange at the time of application, qualifications and experience. An additional one sixth of salary (i.e. four months) will be paid on completion of the two year contract.
