Job Summary

We are currently recruiting for dynamic, talented teachers to join our academic team. Successful applicants will be confident in delivering interactive and student-centred lessons.

Classes usually take place between 9:00 and 19:00, Monday to Friday, although some classes do run in the evenings and on Saturdays. Our mixed-nationality classes consist of adult individuals studying on either our General English or Cambridge exam preparation courses, as well as in-company courses.

Due to job post being available as soon as possible - please apply only if you are located in the UK (preferably London area).

Speak Up London is committed to the safeguarding of all of our learners and all staff will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check. References will be followed up and we will ask whether there is any reason why you should not work with under 18s. You must bring proof of identity and qualifications with you if you are selected for interview and all gaps in your cv must be explained. Finally, appropriate suitability checks will be required prior to confirmation of appointment.

Qualifications

A degree and CELTA/Cert TESOL/DELTA/DipTESOL qualification are essential. Teachers with qualifications gained online with no classroom observation and assessment module will not be considered.

Salary and Benefits

Pay rate is based on post CELTA (or equiv.) experience and ranges from £23.25 to £15.19 / hour
1 to 1 lessons are paid up to £24/hour
Benefits include a comprehensive CPD programme, including regular workshops and observations. 30 days of annual leave pro rata, PERKPAL staff benefits.
Speak Up London will consider applicants with less than 2 years of teaching experience post passing CELTA (or equiv.), which may affect pay scale.
