-to prepare and deliver high quality lessons using the materials available
-to complete a weekly planner, giving an overview of lessons each week
-to set homework
-to conduct fortnightly tutorials with students and oversee their individual learning plan
-to administer and oversee weekly tests
-to record and input attendance and test scores at the end of every week
-to write academic reports for leaving students
-to teach cover classes
Details of Position
We are seeking passionate, enthusiastic and flexible EFL teachers, with excellent organisational and team working skills to join us for our summer period: the start of June until the end of August. We are proud to offer fixed term, minimum hour contracts, with the possibility of extension at the end of summer. We are offering three different contracts:
Part-time morning (15 hours teaching, 1 hour meeting per week)
Part-time afternoon (15 hours teaching, 1 hour meeting, one evening social activity per week)
Full time (25 hours teaching, 1 hour meeting per week)
Applicants must have the right to work in the U.K. and hold all essential qualifications.
A full DBS check and two satisfactory references must be obtained before a job offer can be formally offered.
A first degree in any subject (Level 6).
TEFLI qualification recognised by The British Council (Cambridge CELTA / Trinity Cert. TESOL).
Experience of teaching General English to adults.
A postgraduate degree in a relevant subject.
TEFLQ qualification recognised by The British Council (Cambridge DELTA / Trinity Dip. TESOL).
Experience of teaching EAP and/or IELTS preparation.
Ability to create a welcoming and engaging classroom atmosphere.
Ability to build and maintain good rapport with multicultural groups of students.
Ability to work as part of an academic team.
Proven commitment to continuing professional development.
Excellent IT skills with experience in delivering e-learning.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to monitor student progress and provide students with effective feedback.
Salary and Benefits
One-to-one mentoring and support will be available for the duration of the contract.
Pay rates calculated according to experience and qualifications (Delta/Master's degree in TESOL).
