We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic and reliable people to join us at our Summer Centre for Juniors (ages 10-17). The positions are residential and will be based at our centre in Lord Wandsworth College in Hampshire.
We are looking for HOUSE PARENTS and SOCIAL ACTIVITIES LEADERS.
Details of Position
We are looking for a highly responsible and organised candidates to fill the positions of House Parent and Social Activity Leader.
The positions are residential and our centre, based at Lord Wandsworth College in Hampshire. We can also offer non-residential Social Activity Leader positions to those who are based close to Lord Wandsworth College.
House Parents are responsible for the smooth running of the accommodation houses and take an active role in student welfare, discipline and safeguarding, including health & safety. They ensure students are prepared for their classes and the activities programme, lead welcome activities for new students, daily house meetings and the distribution of pocket money. House Parents will also contribute to afternoon and evening activities on certain days of the week.
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES LEADERS
Social Activities Leaders take an active role in leading our students in sports and non-sports activities, lead groups on excursions and assist in airport transfers. We require a team with a collective broad range of skills, so if you have qualifications and/or experience in any one or more of the following, then we would like to hear from you:
Sports coaching / PE teacher training
Lifeguarding (3 metre-deep swimming pool)
Arts and crafts
Working with children between the ages of 10 and 17
Residential Activities Leaders will be timetabled on to additional duties to help look after the students. There is an option to take a non-residential post with lighter duties, but you will need to be based within reasonable commuting distance.
Start date July 2020.

A proven ability and desire to work with teenagers including maintaining discipline
Ability to proactively seek out and solve problems (e.g. homesickness, difficulties settling in)
A keen sense of the needs of teenagers when away from home
Ability to communicate effectively with English learners
Accurate record keeping of student details
Previous experience in a similar role
First Aid Qualification
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES LEADERS
To lead and inspire teenagers
Ability to give clear and understandable instructions to English language learners
Excellent attention to student care and safety
Experience of working with young learners / international students
Full driving licence, own car and willingness to use for school business purposes
First aid qualification
Salary and Benefits
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES LEADER (residential): £336 per week, which includes holiday pay.
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES LEADER (non-residential with lighter duties): £300 per week, which includes holiday pay.
Residential staff receive full board and lodgings at the Centre for the duration of their employment as well as use of the sports and gym facilities when these are available.
