Job Summary

Oxford Spires International runs English language integration programmes for young learners visiting Oxford from around the world. We need Activity Leaders to run activities such as fun Sports & Games or Arts & Crafts and to accompany off-site activities, such as walking tours of Oxford, trips to museums and other local attractions, so that each student has a safe, enjoyable and beneficial experience whilst attending our language programme.

Details of Position

We are looking for Activity Leaders between 1st and 9th February or between 2nd and 12th February. So if you have some time to spare in February 2020, have some relevant experience and would enjoy running fun activities for children and young people, we would love to hear from you!
There will be more opportunities to work later in the year from dates yet to be confirmed from March to August 2020.

Hours: from around 9am to 5.30pm each day.
Students will be attending lessons in mainstream Oxfordshire schools in the mornings and a range of activities will be arranged for the afternoons which Activity Leaders will be running. At the end of each day, students will return to the homes in and around Oxford where they are staying.

Please note that this is NOT a residential post NO accommodation is available so you will need to live within commuting distance of Oxford. Ideally you will have your own transport.

KEY DUTIES

Help to plan and deliver engaging, fun and appropriate activities for groups of language students, both on and off-site
Accompany full day and half day off site excursions
Assist with student supervision during break and lunch times
Help to maintain student behaviour, safety and welfare at all times
Supervise airport arrivals and departures as necessary
Be ready to assist at any time with an emergency situation, or where a student is ill or injured
Engage with the students outside of classes and assigned activity sessions in a friendly and professional manner
All staff may be required to be on call overnight in case of an emergency, on a rota basis
Take responsibility for implementing Oxford Spires Internationals policies and procedures, and representing the school to the highest standard
All staff must follow the companys Safeguarding Policy and fully understand their responsibilities regarding the safeguarding of students attending our programmes

Qualifications

You will need to:
Be a a good communicator with excellent spoken English language skills
Have the ability to work as part of a team, and also to use own initiative
Have a flexible, cooperative, and responsible attitude
Have a reasonable level of fitness and knowledge of the rules and organisation of sports and games

All staff will be subject to strict safeguarding checks including an enhanced DBS disclosure

£80.00 per day
