Egypt has gone through many changes since the Revolution of January 2011. There is a new democracy with a new President and Egyptians are enjoying a new era of greater freedom, compared to the previous 20 years. It is a country with a lot of cultural diversity and history but has some significant challenges to face but is becoming more settled after the revolution and with the democratic election of a President. There are still many internal challenges for the Government but living and working in Egypt is relatively safe.

Egypt currently has travel restrictions in Sinai due to deterioration in security in this area.
UK travel advice is regularly updated and can be found on the FCO website here: http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travel-and-living-abroad/travel-advice-by-country/middle-east-north-africa/egypt
