British Study Centres are seeking to recruit qualified EFL Teachers/Activity Leaders for their Junior Summer Schools which are located across the South of England.

British Study Centres are recruiting qualified EFL teachers (CELTA or equivalent) for summer schools located across the South of England. For more information about dates and locations, please visit our website (link below).


Dean Close School - Cheltenham

New Hall School - Chelmsford

Corpus Christi College - Oxford

Oxford Brookes University - Oxford

King's College - London

Bradfield College - close to Reading

Cheltenham Ladies' College - Cheltenham

Wycliffe College - Stonehouse

Ardingly College - close to Royal Tunbridge Wells

Our EFL Teachers/Activity Leaders will be required to undertake the following duties:

~ Plan and deliver high quality, fun and engaging lessons
~ Teach between 15 and 23 hours a week
~ Follow the BSC syllabus
~ Complete registers, records of work and weekly plans in a timely manner
~ Complete any necessary administration e.g. observation paperwork, handing out student questionnaires, student reports
~ Assist in the placement testing and induction of new students
~ Attend and participate in academic meetings

~ Fully supervise either afternoon or evening activities as per your timetable
~ Participate in all activities enthusiastically
~ Work with the activities staff to ensure smooth running of Social Programme
~ Accompany and supervise students on excursions
~ Attend to safety and welfare of students on activities and excursions
~ Promote language learning opportunity on all activities and excursions

~ Perform all residential duties punctually and professionally
~ Be aware of your duties as per the weekly timetable
~ Actively supervise mealtimes on a rota basis
~ Undertake wake up duty on a rota basis
~ Undertake night duty on a rota basis
~ Undertake daily roll call duty with your designated Buddy Group
~ Be a role model for the students

In addition to the above, all staff are required to:
~ Work positively as part of a team
~ Demonstrate a positive attitude
~ Attend and participate in whole staff meetings
~ Act according to accepted professional standards at all times
~ Act in the welfare of the students at all times
~ Comply with centre and BSC rules and regulations

We are looking for candidates who meet the below criteria:
- First Degree
- Enthusiasm for summer school life

Please note that candidates must already have the right to work in the UK. Candidates without the right to work in the UK will not be considered.

Salary and Benefits

From £370 per week (payscale available on request).
Accommodation and board are provided.
Non-residential positions available in Cheltenham and Ardingly (from £15 per hour depending on experience)
