Details of Position
We're looking for talented and committed EFL teachers to complete our professional teaching team for this 2018-19 academic year. All applicants must be university graduates with good TEFL and/or PGCE qualifications and a keen desire to work in a close-knit team. Teachers must be well-appointed.
As an official University of Cambridge Assessment, Preparation and Examination Centre since 1993, we expect teachers to have previous experience preparing official examinations, although on-going support and training is provided and the school supports future professional development. We encourage the sharing of knowledge and experience throughout the teaching process in this friendly, cooperative environment. We prepare all levels from Young Learners to C2 and we hold our YL exams on-site.
We offer a comfortable 24-hour per week teaching timetable for full-time teachers with an early finish on Fridays. These posts will appeal to EFL teachers with previous, good quality TEFL experience looking to establish themselves in Spain (minimum one academic year, but preferably longer-term). However, these positions are not suitable for candidates whose only previous experience has been as Language Assistants.
This area has the highest sunlight hours in Europe, living costs are low compared to other areas of Spain and good, economical accommodation in abundance.

Salary and Benefits
Guaranteed Basic Salary: 1,375 - 1,445 Euros per month (depending on experience)
After-tax take-home pay: 1,260 - 1,324*
All Social Security, Health and Unemployment benefits are covered by the School (approx. 440 euros / p.m.) plus an accident insurance and free annual medical test.
Contract completion bonus (approx. 1,000 euros)
Initial contract period: 13th September 2018 - 28th June 2019 (longer-term contracts available with Summer course option).
Holidays: 1 week at Easter, 4 days for local fair (late-May) plus all other local, provincial, regional and national holidays. All holidays are fully paid for by the School. Long-term teachers who work on summer courses have at least 3 weeks additional holidays in summer.
The School provides good, free hotel accommodation to successful candidates on arrival and for the first 3 days. We reimburse travel costs and help you to find permanent accommodation.
Spanish tuition will be provided by the school, if desired or required.
*Teachers who have already worked in Spain will have the required identity / fiscal document with N.I.E. number. Those who have not, may apply for this directly to the Consulate before arrival (recommended) or the School will help you to apply for it once you arrive. Income tax is usually set at 2% for new teachers and NHS & SS contributions at 6.4%. The School fully covers all other costs. Teachers living in Spain longer-term should check their tax rate annually as some, depending on their income and deductible costs, may be entitled to a tax return the following year. The Spanish tax year runs from 1st January to 30th December.
A criminal background certificate is required.
