Job Summary

Due to our continued expansion, we are looking to recruit enthusiastic teachers, with proven experience, to join our friendly team and help us further develop our successful Young Learners and General English departments. As a Cambridge Exams Centre and long-standing member of the Italian Association of Language Schools (www.aisli.it), we guarantee all our teachers excellent, transparent working conditions with opportunities for professional development and career progression.

Details of Position

Do you love TEFL teaching but feel that you're just teaching and not learning or developing your own career? Would you like to have a staff room packed with all the latest resources to help you put new ideas into action? Are you looking to join a very friendly, welcoming team who genuinely love teaching as much as you do? Would you also welcome receiving year-round training and guidance? If so, you might be interested in the positions we need to fill for the next academic year 2018-2019.
We are looking for professional English teachers with a passion for motivating, nurturing and guiding learners of all ages and abilities. Successful candidates will enjoy working closely with like-minded colleagues, who seek and appreciate the buzz that comes from creating dynamic, inclusive and effective lessons and contributing to the student-centred ethos of our business. You will be able to draw upon previous experience to anticipate workload and plan ahead. As part of our team, you will also show willingness to contribute to the wider aspects of language school life and be able to propose and deliver extra-curricular activities to ensure a complete wraparound package of language and culture for our learners.
Over 90% of our young learners come back each year as they love the atmosphere, lessons and activities and their parents appreciate the results! However, we also recognise the need to continue developing and experimenting and thus warmly welcome the ideas of new teachers who can help us shape our successful formula going forwards.
We run busy language centres in two nearby market towns and our core business is General English and Cambridge English exam courses. Classes in both schools span many levels from complete beginner to Advanced C2 and draw upon a wide student base of young learners, teenagers and adults.
The Stamford School's aim is to develop all our teachers' skills and knowledge and allow you to make TEFL teaching a rewarding career, not just a short term option. The DOS Emma and Assistant DOS Olivia support the team ethos of professional growth by organising weekly paid CPD sessions on all aspects of methodology and language, as well as being on hand every morning for help with lesson planning and trouble shooting. Most of our teachers stay for more than their first year due to the support and atmosphere of the school.
For the new academic year we are now looking for teachers who want to develop their experience in either General English or in the Young Learner field.
General English:
The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys planning and delivering engaging, communicative lessons and who has proven ability in effective, clear grammar teaching.Experience with the Cambridge Examinations (Key, Preliminary, First etc) is an advantage.
Young Learners:
These positions are for those of you whose interests lie more in teaching the younger students. You will understand the importance of having a nurturing approach and will show warmth, care and sensitivity in dealing with children. Our ideal candidate will also have some knowledge of Cambridge Young Learner examinations (Starters, Movers and Flyers).
We would love to hear from you if you are keen to develop your teaching skills in these areas and if you can imagine yourself actively contributing to a school which encourages initiative and recognises hard work and loyalty. Please note that, due to timetabling restrictions, our teachers are expected to be able to teach all ages, including adults.
