Job Summary

Burlington School is looking to recruit English Teachers and Activity Leaders for its Residential Summer School at Ardingly College, West Sussex. The Residential School will run from 30 June to 28 July 2018.

Details of Position

Burlington School is looking to recruit English Teachers and Activity Leaders for its Residential Summer School at Ardingly College. The Residential School will run from 30 June to 28 July 2018, although there are opportunities to work at our main Campus in South West London before and after these dates. Permanent positions may be available to exceptional applicants.
Responsible to the Director of Studies, English Teachers must be enthusiastic and have the skills to teach junior students in a residential setting. The principal responsibilities of the teaching roles are:
* to teach General English to junior students
* to assist with the social activities offered by the school
* to assist with the pastoral care of students
* to complete administrative paperwork in line with legal and accreditation responsibilities
* to assist the Director of Studies and Centre Manager with any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job
Responsible to the Centre Manager, Activity Leaders must be enthusiastic and have the skills and enthusiasm to lead a variety of creative and sporting activities for groups of junior students. The principal responsibilities of the Activity Leader roles are:
* to plan and lead the social activities offered by the school
* to supervise mealtimes and free-time periods
* to assist with student arrivals and departures on a weekly basis, including airport pick-ups and drop-offs
* to assist with the pastoral care of students
* to complete administrative paperwork in line with legal and accreditation responsibilities
* to assist the Director of Studies and Centre Manager with any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job

All applicants are required to undergo an enhanced DBS check, and to provide any relevant overseas police checks.

Qualifications

English Teachers:
Required: TEFL-I (CELTA/CertTESOL)
Required: First Degree
Desirable: TEFL-Q (DELTA/DipTESOL)
Desirable: MA/MSc in TESOL or Applied Linguistics
Desirable: Current certification in First Aid, Safeguarding and Health & Safety
Activity Leaders:
Desirable: Current certification in First Aid, Safeguarding and Health & Safety

Salary and Benefits

Salary: competitive salary, dependent on qualification and experience.
Holiday pay to be paid at 12.07%, included with final pay.
