Details of Position
Our EFL summer courses promote communication in English, focusing on the development of students' speaking, listening and pronunciation. We provide an excellent working environment where we set the bar high for performance standards but still maintain a staff retention rate of over 70%. Our staff appreciate our professional organisation and the welcoming, supportive atmosphere within the teaching team.
We are recruiting for an Assistant Director of Studies (ADOS) position for 26 July to 17 August.
This position could be combined with a three-week teaching position from 6 July to 25 July if desired, which would allow a lengthy on-the-job handover with the returning staff member who is working on an ADOS contract for the first three weeks of our summer school.
The ADOS is responsible for assisting the DOS in supervising and supporting a team of up to 25 EFL teachers and ensuring the smooth running of the academic aspect of all English language courses. In particular the ADOS has responsibility for conducting lesson observations and providing developmental guidance to teachers. He or she will be working in an experienced managerial team that is staffed entirely by returning members of staff.
Full details of the position can be found in our job specifications available to download from our website. Applications are through our website. Free accommodation is provided to all staff if required in boarding houses on site.
We are looking for candidates with experience of conducting lesson observations and teaching teenagers, and ideally previous experience of working in a summer school environment. CELTA course tutors and academic managers who have held responsibility for teacher support are particularly welcome to apply.
