Job Summary

An OSCARS Teacher will be expected to work 2 slots a day for 6 days a week.
You will be expected to plan and prepare for all lessons and link these to an OSCARS centres social programme through using the lessons provided on MS Power point. Teachers are expected to monitor progress by encouraging the completion of the OSCARS diary. The Director of Studies/Head Teacher will ensure you are supported on all aspects of the academic programme.

Details of Position

OSCARS operates numerous international junior vacation centres. OSCARS H/O is located in London, with a small dedicated full time team.
We are currently recruiting for short-term contract positions throughout June, July and August in our Edinburgh, Oxfordshire and London centres
The role is a dual Teacher/Activity Leader role working with students ranging in age from 11-17 in the UK for mini-stay residential programmes.
These roles are available throughout June, July and August 2018


Trinity TESOL/ Cambridge CELTA or equivalent or PGCE in relevant subjects, BEd, QTS or overseas equivalent plus a previous Degree.
(By equivalent to the Trinity TESOL or Cambridge CELTA certification we mean that courses must have been externally validated by a reputable and recognized university or examinations board, include at least six hours of supervised and assessed teaching practice with real EFL students and at least 100 hours of relevant input from suitably qualified tutors. Additionally, online certification is not acceptable at the present time).
Native or near native competency in English. If English is not your maternal language, you must be able to demonstrate that you have are at C1 level of the CEFR as minimum requirement.
Eligible to work in the UK
Willingness to organize and partake in sporting activities, educational visits and evening entertainments.

Salary and Benefits

£350 per week or pro-rata thereof, with statutory holiday pay (approx. 12.07%) paid on completion of contract.
Full-board accommodation in return for pastoral care duties.
