Job Summary

As Director of Studies you will ensure the smooth running of ADCs EFL and teacher training courses and oversee all aspects of our academic programmes, from managing external teachers and developing course materials to course administration and quality/feedback management. This role is ideal for entrepreneurial individuals interested in academic and business management, making an impact on ADCs academic direction and high-quality teaching in line with British Council requirements.

ABOUT ADC COLLEGE
Established in 1996, ADC College is a British Council accredited language school and professional training centre. We run EFL courses for European students and teacher training courses for experienced teachers attending refresher courses. A large part of our business is organising short-term work experience for European students. These students are prepared for their work placement during a one-week English for Work (EfW) course.

ROLE
As Director of Studies you will ensure the smooth running of ADCs EFL and teacher training courses. As we are a small team, you will oversee all aspects of our academic programmes, from managing external teachers and developing course materials to course administration and quality/feedback management. This role is ideal for entrepreneurial individuals interested in academic and business management, making an impact on ADCs academic direction and high-quality teaching in line with British Council standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
# EFL courses: Business English to students aged 17-25. Teaching is shared between Director of Studies and external teachers;
# Train the trainer: Teacher training courses for EU teaching professionals aged 30-60. Teaching is done by Director of Studies;
# Overall course administration and co-ordination. Dealing with admin matters relating to the academic department such as room bookings, teaching licences, communications with academic bodies like the British Council, English UK etc. and anything else as required;
# Quality management and adherence to British Council standards;
# Development of existing course materials and creation of new material as required;
# Recruitment and coordination of external English teachers; and
# Advice and support to other departments and senior management team as required.

Qualifications

# Qualified to TEFLQ level (i.e. Cambridge DELTA or Trinity DipTesol)
# Educated to degree level
# Excellent spoken and written English
# Previous experience with teaching business English and teacher training courses
# Good knowledge of CLIL methodology

Salary and Benefits

£27-30k depending on experience plus profit share bonus
