Job Summary

Our client is recruiting fully qualified, native level English speaking, Secondary Teachers to teach in Brunei's government schools.
We have a number of intake sessions for new hires: the end of March, June and August/September 2018, as well as January 2019.
Brunei is a small country on the island of Borneo, it has a modern infrastructure, excellent medical services, a high standard of living

Details of Position

Teachers lead their own classes focused on EFL and are part of the school's faculty
Teachers are answerable to the Heads of Departments and Principals of the schools to which they have been assigned
Our client provides comprehensive support before/during the teachers contract, and on a professional/personal level
Typically 2-5 foreign trained teachers are assigned to each school
English is the primary language of instruction across all subjects in Brunei
Contact hours range from 12-16 hours/week, plus required prep time
The school week is Monday to Thursday, and Saturday mornings, with Friday and Sunday off
Brunei offers generous public holidays and teachers typically get the whole month of December off, 2 weeks in March and June, 7-8 days in September plus 6-7 long-weekends throughout the year


Required Qualifications:
A degree preferably in English, Linguistics or Humanities from a university in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, or the UK and have completed your basic and tertiary education in one of these countries (a degree in any subject is acceptable with qualifications below)
Qualified teacher status in the form of a Bachelor of Education, a Diploma of Education, a Diploma of Teaching or a Post Graduate Certificate in Education preferably for secondary aged students
A minimum of three years relevant classroom-teaching experience
A minimum of one year's EFL / ESL experience
A valid driver's licence
