Details of Position
Wimbledon School of English was established in 1964 and is one of the oldest English language schools in the UK. It is consistently named by the EL Gazette as one of the top performing English language schools according to British Council inspection results.
We are looking to fill the position of Social Activities Manager at our established Junior Summer Centre based in Lord Wandsworth College on the Surrey/Hampshire border. We have up to 120 students (aged 11 to 16) per week with a good mixture of nationalities. The college itself is one of the largest boarding school campuses in Europs with outstanding sports facilities, which staff can use during their time off.
Our course will run from 8 July to 11 August, however you may be able to start up to three weeks before the course starts.
The Social Activities Manager is responsible for the effective running of student activities and weekend excursions programme. You will lead a team of up to 10 staff and will liaise closely with the Centre Manager, Head of Welfare and Director of Studies. You will be the direct line manager of the Centres Social Activities Leaders, which will involve induction, training and monitoring performance to ensure students receive the programme that was advertised.
You will be organised, accurate, and customer oriented and have good interpersonal and team-working skills.
Experience in a similar role essential.

Excellent IT skills
Organisational, administrative and record keeping skills
Leadership and team management experience
Experience of or a desire to implement a summer CPD programme for social activities staff
Experience in managing the afternoon sports and activities programme, and the evening social programme.
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Excellent attention to customer care and safety
Experience of working with young learners
Strong awareness of Safeguarding
Full driving licence, own car and willingness to use for school business purposes
Sports coaching qualifications
First aid qualification
Experience of working with international students
